Philip Andrews is an imaging professional who is consumed by one true passion – ‘making great images’.

He is an international best selling imaging author publishing with such companies as Focal Press, Watson and Guptill, Thames and Hudson, Rotovision and Carlton Books. He currently has 18 titles to his name with a further two books in writing or production stages. In addition two of his books have been translated into Japanese and Portuguese.

He is also the author of over 200 articles in more than 18 magazine titles over 4 countries. He is currently the Editor for Better Photoshop Techniques (Aust.) and Basic Digital Photography and is a contributor for What Digital Camera (UK) Better Photography (Aust.) and Better Digital (Aust.).

He is an Alpha tester for Adobe digital photography products and acts as a beta tester for Colorvision’s range of colour management hardware and software.

He is an accomplished teacher who over the last 18 years has lectured in photography, digital imaging and multimedia at schools, colleges and universities in the UK and Australia. He has conducted hands-on workshops for participants at a range of levels from beginners to post graduate students and has been involved in designing and writing over 15 accredited courses in the area. Recently he has been involved in demonstrations and corporate training for Adobe and various government departments.

But above all he is a passionate photographer whose drive for taking and making great images is what fuels his working life. He is a professional with 16 years experience shooting commercial, editorial and documentary pictures that have been published in over 40 magazines and newspapers both here and internationally. He is a winner of the Leica documentary Award for Australia (1999) and counts his recent shooting assignments in various countries through out the world as the most challenging and rewarding he has ever undertaken.
